Join My Next Adventure : The Assigned Pooling Knitalong!

There is something truly magical about a community of knitters coming together to work on the same project.

It's more than just following a pattern; it's about shared progress, troubleshooting over a cuppa and watching how different hands bring the same design to life.

That is why I'm so thrilled to invite you to our latest event: The Assigned Pooling Knit-a-long!

Starting May 6, I'll be casting on the stunning Romantasy shawl by Jacqui Verbeek. This pattern is a masterclass in assigned pooling - a technique where specific sections of hand dyed yarn are used to create intentional texture or floral pops, like the beautiful 'florets' in the Romantasy shawl.

For this journey, I've chosen a base that is pure luxury: a hand dyed brushed alpaca, wool and nylon blend held double with a strand of sparkle yarn. It creates a fabric that is ethereal, soft and with that sparkle - just a little bit magical.

I'll be knitting mine in the Spring Blossom set, a colourway that feels especially poignant as I'll be traveling through Japan during the KAL. Spring Blossom Set – The Australian Wool Store

If you prefer cooler deeper tones, the Winter Blossom set is an equally breathtaking option. Winter Blossom Set – The Australian Wool Store

Both sets come as 100g of heavy lace weight yarn paired with a 10g sparkle threads, delivered as ready to knit balls.

Of course, a project this special deserves the right tools. If you're looking to upgrade your kit for the KAL, I highly recommend Knit Pro Mindful Interchangeable tips. These stainless-steel tips are perfect for fine fibre work and feature inspirational words to keep your knitting peaceful. This knit-a-long is designed to be low-pressure and high-connection. While I'm not 'teaching' the pattern (it's beautifully written and beginner friendly!), I'll be active on Facebook and Instagram to offer advice and cheer you on. If you aren't on social media, just send me an email to let me know you're joining in and we'll work something out; kathryn@theaustralianwoolstore.com

Let's create something beautiful together.

Grab your yarn set, download the pattern from Jacqui Verbeek's website or Ravelry and let's get ready to cast on this May.
